The rational use of antibiotics and their appropriate selection are the fundamental tools to reduce the impact of resistance on the clinical results of patients and the changing environment in which we move.Selecting the antimicrobial with the narrowest spectrum for the probable etiology of the patient based on the infection model and the one with the least effect on their microbiota and with the fewest adverse effects is the goal of any physician when faced with the decision to prescribe an antibiotic. .The problem of resistance and the appropriate use of antimicrobials is a task that concerns all the Scientific and professional Societies designated by them and that have prepared these guidelines based on current scientific knowledge. This application aims to offer a series of recommendations for the empirical treatment of patients with community infection based on the syndrome they present. We hope that it can help with that first therapeutic decision and the proper use of the different therapeutic options.
